Water Quality Management in Mashreq and Maghreb Countries METAP jointly with European Union. NWRC/SRU carried out “Water Quality Monitoring and Information Dissemination” to develop “Regional Guidelines” in different aspects; Poverty alleviation, Food security, Fragile water status, Environmental degradation, Integrity of water quality jeopardized.

National water Quality Assessment of The Nile River
The main objective of the study was to assess the water quality status of the Nile River according to the most recent water quality measurements using a water quality index approach. The study will focus on the cause-effect relationship between the sources of population and the water quality measurements at different locations along the Nile.
Besides, evaluation of the water quality status at any specific time period and the comparison among different monitoring stations to lead to accurate assessment for the water quality status and show how it changes spatially and/or temporally. In addition, the geographic information system (GIS) has been utilized on the stage of water quality data analysis for better assessment and visualization of outputs and results.

Use of Aquatic Organisms and Sediments as Indicators to Assess the Level of Pollution in the Drainage Systems
This study developed new methods for water quality monitoring using Aquatic organisms and sediment as an indicator of pollution. The results of field surveys and laboratory analysis and statistical concluded that we can use both coliform and total coliform and fecal phytoplankton and zooplankton and fish as an indicator of pollution. Also use the accumulation of heavy elements ginseng hyacinth to indicate the presence of some heavy metals in surface water.

Assessment of the Performance of Organic and Inorganic Bio-filters for Enhancing the Self- Purification in a Heavily Polluted Drain
The aim of this research work is to assess of the performance of organic and inorganic bio-filters for enhancing the self- purification at one of the most polluted drains in Eastern Delta, Sendbees Drain and to determine the most efficient and low price bio-filter material.
It concluded that, the organic bio-filter (wood) is effectively improving the fecal coliform, DO and BOD than the inorganic bio-filter (plastic). Hence, the better performance can be achieved by organic bio- filter such as wood. In addition the organic bio-filter such as Wood is economically efficient.
